“I always look forward to Saved By A Story - whether I’m attending as an audience member or a performer - it is one of my favorite nights of the year. Whenever Kathy asks me to perform my music at the event, it is a no-brainer immediate “Yes, count me in!”…simply because I love it so much! Saved By A Story is a night of storytelling and music, that raises money for a different wonderful charity every time. Kathy curates a night of stories that are both moving and funny, and always inspiring. There are incredible writers, both known and unknown, who share their work and their world, and who capture the feeling of what it means to be human. I started going to Kathy’s storytelling nights years ago, when it was a small group of people in her living room, and I've watched it grow into an event with more people in bigger spaces. But, no matter the location or size, there is always a feeling of intimacy and community and warmth that you can feel at these events. It still feels like you are in a living room, listening to people bravely and vulnerably share a piece of themselves. When I leave the event, I always feel reconnected to the age-old tradition of storytelling and I feel reconnected to humanity.”
